Our client, based in Kingswood, Bristol, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Allocations Support Officer to join their team on a temporary basis.

About the Role:As an Allocations Support Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth admission and transport processes for pupils in South Gloucestershire. Under the guidance of the Admissions and Transport Manager, you will:

  • Provide comprehensive clerical and data support for pupil admissions and transfers to primary and secondary schools.
  • Collaborate with the Allocations and Appeals Officer to prepare case paperwork for appeal hearings.
  • Gather and interpret essential data to assist in determining eligibility for home-to-school transport.
  • Liaise with parents, headteachers, and local authorities to resolve complex admission and transport-related issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update information systems and databases to ensure accurate service transactions.
  • Present findings clearly and concisely to inform decision-making.
  • Respond to queries and complaints, ensuring effective communication at all times.
  • Work collaboratively within a team to achieve deadlines and maintain positive working relationships.

Who We're Looking For:To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • A minimum of 3 GCSEs at grade C or equivalent, including English and Maths, or significant senior administrative experience.
  • Strong ability to collate, interpret, and present information accurately.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to build relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Previous experience in a team environment and the ability to manage your workload effectively.
  • Proficiency in using databases, spreadsheets, and management information systems.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Knowledge of school admissions processes and home-to-school transport policies is a plus.
