Lawyer Advocate

Location: Westgate Street, GL1 2TG
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: 1+ Months
Working Hours: Mon – Fri, 09:00 – 17:00, 37 Hours per week
Pay Rate: £ 43.12 per day

Responsibilities
  • Assist with Adult Social Care legislation queries and matters.
  • Handle Court of Protection cases.
  • Manage Re X applications and s21A cases.
  • Address capacity cases, such as those related to the ability to have sexual relations.
  • Work on Mental Health cases and the displacement of nearest relatives.
  • Deal with means assessment and deprivation of capital matters.
  • Resolve direct payments queries and ordinary residence disputes.
  • Conduct judicial reviews and manage LGSCO matters on behalf of Gloucestershire County Council.
Person Specification
  • Significant experience in Adult Social Care work, enabling you to hit the ground running.
  • Commitment to promoting diversity and reflecting the population of Gloucestershire.
  • Understanding of the importance of confidentiality and compliance with GDPR.
  • Admitted Solicitor or Barrister with relevant qualifications and registrations.
  • Ability to work remotely and manage workload efficiently.
