Responsibilities
- Provide expert legal advice and advocacy services on matters related to Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- Represent Gloucestershire County Council in court and tribunal hearings.
- Draft and review legal documents, ensuring compliance with current legislation and policies.
- Collaborate with various departments within the council to provide comprehensive legal support.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support case preparation and decision-making.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legal developments and best practices.
- Qualified solicitor or barrister with a valid practicing certificate.
- Extensive experience in SEND law and advocacy.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to manage a diverse caseload effectively.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., CIMA, CIPD) is desirable.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
