About the Role:
My client is seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to lead their production team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for achieving production targets while maintaining high standards of health & safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
The successful candidate will be a strong communicator with proven supervisory experience in FMCG or similar manufacturing environments. A focus on continuous improvement, team development, and cross-functional collaboration is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and promote a proactive safety culture.
Lead production operations to meet daily KPIs and minimise downtime.
Oversee quality control, adherence to SOPs, and support audit readiness.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
Manage resources, including materials, staff planning, and equipment readiness.
Maintain accurate documentation and system transactions (ERP, stock control, dispatch).
Lead, train, and develop a high-performing team, ensuring clear communication and performance management.
Support environmental and sustainability goals through site-wide initiatives.
Person Specification:
Essential:
Proven supervisory/leadership experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of H&S, GMP, and quality systems.
Skilled in team leadership, problem-solving, and performance management.
Experience using ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
FLT Counterbalance licence (2 years experience).
Food Hygiene Level 2, IOSH Working Safely, HACCP Level 2.
Desirable:
IOSH Managing Safely, First Aid, ILM or equivalent leadership training.
Experience with BRC, ISO, and audit processes.
