Lead HVAC Project Engineer (Mechanical Bias) | East Yorkshire
Salary: £35,000 – £55,000 + Car Allowance / Mileage
Type: Fulltime | Permanent
8am-5pm (working time may vary depending on the project)
Location: East Yorkshire & London (Hybrid – 3–4 days office, 1–2 days field-based)

Fox Morris Group is recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established and growing building services engineering company based in East Yorkshire. Due to continued expansion and a strong pipeline of secured work (in and around Yorkshire & London), we are seeking a Lead HVAC Project Engineer (Mechanical Bias) to join their team.
This hybrid role is ideal for an experienced Project Manager or an HVAC professional ready to step up and take full ownership of varied mechanical HVAC projects from concept to completion.
Key Responsibilities
As the HVAC Project Manager, you will:
- Manage mechanical HVAC projects from initial concept through to handover, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
- Lead on planning, coordination, and execution of multiple projects across hospitality and leisure sectors (restaurants, pubs, entertainment centres).
- Prepare project documentation including site-specific RAMS for all HVAC activities.
- Oversee day-to-day site supervision and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Manage subcontractors and ensure work meets technical and quality expectations.
- Work closely with clients and end-users to understand requirements and provide excellent service.
- Support estimating/tendering activities where required.
- Apply HVAC design knowledge and utilise AutoCAD as needed.
- Maintain ownership and accountability for all project outcomes.
About You
We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate:
- A mechanical bias with a strong background in HVAC building services.
- Relevant HVAC-related qualifications (NVQ, HNC, HND, Degree or equivalent beneficial).
- Experience in estimating/tendering for HVAC or mechanical projects.
- Knowledge of HVAC design, with AutoCAD proficiency desirable.
- Proven ability to manage projects through their full lifecycle.
- Experience supervising subcontractors and managing site activities.
- Strong communication skills and confidence when dealing with clients, consultants, and end-users.
- A proactive approach and the ability to work independently with full responsibility for project delivery
