Location: Ideally based between Glasgow and Edinburgh

Salary: £37,000 - £39,000 + £5,000 car allowance + mileage

Includes 24/7 Out-of-Hours Rota (1 in 5 weeks)

Join a leading IT services provider, trusted by global partners and known for delivering exceptional support across enterprise infrastructure. We're looking for an experienced and versatile Field Service Engineer to help deliver outstanding Server, Storage, and Network support services across the Scotland region.

The Role

You'll play a vital role in delivering second-line support to customers, owning technical escalations, and maintaining a high standard of field-based service. Working independently in a client-facing environment, you'll triage, resolve, and manage a variety of hardware-related incidents while contributing to strong and long-lasting customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve 2nd line Server, Storage & Network issues.
  • Own and manage incidents affecting customer SLAs.
  • Respond to technical assistance requests professionally and effectively.
  • Perform hardware maintenance and arrange parts replacements as needed.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers to support maintenance and sales activities.
  • Represent the company with a professional, high-quality service profile.
  • Participate in an on-call rota (1 in 5 weeks) to support out-of-hours incidents.

What You'll Need

  • Strong background in Field Support / IT Engineering Services (ideally within Third Party Maintenance).
  • Hands-on experience with:

? Servers, Storage, Tape Backup & Networking equipment

? Multi-vendor systems including IBM, SUN, Cisco, Dell, HP, NetApp, Fujitsu, EMC, Hitachi

  • Proven experience supporting external clients in demanding environments.
  • Confident communicator - written, verbal, and face-to-face with customers.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours based on business needs.
  • Self-motivated with a customer-focused mindset and a drive for continuous improvement.
