Management Accountant (6 Months FTC)
Grantham/Hybrid
£40k - £50k per annum
Benjamin Edwards are recruiting for a Management Accountant for a successful business based on the outskirts of Grantham. The successful candidate must have experience in management accounts production, variance analysis and working with non-financial stakeholders. The role is initially for a 6 month contract with the opportunity for it to be extended and made permanent for the right candidate. To succeed in this role, you will have a proven track record using large data exports to generate insightful analysis to support decision-making. The ideal candidate is someone who can work independently as well as in a team environment, has strong communication skills and has the confidence to ask for help when needed and challenge non-financial stakeholders. The role sits within a small team so offers variety but requires you to be flexible and work closely with and support other team members when needed. The role is hybrid – working one day from home.
The role of the Management Accountant
- Production of the management accounts
- Business partnering with budget holders to ensure tight cost control, including generation of budget holder variance reports
- Own and administer stock write off process
- Inventory reporting
- Strong understanding of BOMs to aid production variance reporting
- Purchase Price Variance (PPV) reporting
- Overhead accruals at period end
- Year-end reporting and assistance with audit deliverables
- Utility reporting for the Operations Director
- Month-end system close down
- Support the Financial Controller with reporting for the insurance providers
- Involvement in the maintenance of the ERP system
- Filing of Office for National Statistics (ONS) reporting
- Support the Accounts Assistant with their month-end tasks (prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations) and peer review statutory reporting they have produced (VAT, SDIL)
- Manage cash requirements
- Collate relevant customer documentation for the postponed VAT reporting
- Ownership of full bookkeeping duties for a division, including invoice processing, payment runs, cashflow forecasting and reconciliation of stock
- Management of intercompany billing and reporting
- Support Financial Controller with ad hoc reporting where required
- Provide holiday cover upstream for the Financial Controller and also downstream for Accounts Payable when needed
The ideal candidate for the role of Management Accountant
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or part qualified - QBE may also be considered
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel – manipulating large data downloads into meaningful reports is a must
- Experience using ERP systems
- Knowledge and use of Power BI is advantageous
