Key Responsibilities of the Business Development Manager

  • Proactively identify and convert new business opportunities in construction, architecture, and the wider built environment
  • Work closely with the Sales & Marketing Director to shape and execute a high-growth sales strategy
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with developers, specifiers, builders, installers, and architects
  • Attend industry events and trade shows to generate leads and expand brand visibility
  • Present tailored solutions that align with customer needsselling not just products, but value
  • Conduct market and competitor research to spot opportunities and emerging trends
  • Support pipeline development, from lead generation to closing deals, using CRM tools and analytics
  • Collaborate with design, estimating, and marketing teams to deliver winning proposals
  • Maintain and grow key accounts through structured account planning and consistent follow-up
  • Deliver on sales targets and play an active role in shaping forecasts and budgets
