About the Role
Hill McGlynn is partnering with a respected regional subcontractor specializing in civils and groundworks. They are seeking a talented Civils Estimator to join their team in Gravesend. Key Responsibilities
- Preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for civils and groundworks projects.
- Analyzing project drawings, specifications, and tender documents to develop detailed estimates.
- Liaising with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to gather quotations and ensure competitive pricing.
- Managing bid submissions, ensuring compliance with client requirements and deadlines.
- Supporting risk assessments and value engineering initiatives to optimize project profitability.
- Collaborating with the commercial and operational teams to ensure estimates are aligned with project scopes and budgets.
- Assisting in tender negotiations and contract finalizations.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience as a Civils Estimator within a subcontracting or civil engineering environment.
- Strong knowledge of civils and groundworks projects, including excavation, earthworks, drainage, and infrastructure.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Good communication and negotiation skills.
- Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field is advantageous.
