Apprentice Accountant

An entry-level opportunity has arisen to join the accounts team of an established and successful Commercial Vehicle Dealership Group; whilst the role is in West Thurrock, the Group’s premises and operations spread across Essex, North London, West London, Kent and Sussex.

The Group is family owned, has a turnover in excess of £150m per annum and has a fantastic reputation within the industry.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking to employ an ambitious and highly organised individual to join our skilled and developing Accounts team as an Apprentice Accountant.

We are interested in hearing from both school leavers and those already studying or completed their AAT.

This represents a unique opportunity to forge an accounting career in a commercial environment with clear career progression whilst receiving first class training.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include the below but will develop and increase as the successful candidate progresses:

• Analysis of key financial information for the Company accountants
• Analysis of key operational performance
• Maintaining the company’s purchase ledger
• Maintaining the company’s sales ledger
• Assisting in best practices of control and process
• Analysis of information for Management Accounts

Key Skills & Qualities

The following would be extremely beneficial to candidates:

• An excellent working knowledge of Excel (including vlookups, pivot tables etc.)
• An ability to communicate clearly, confidently and professionally with staff and customers
• An ability to demonstrate a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail whilst working to strict deadlines
• A proven ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• An ability to be proactive and prioritise a changing workload
• Eager to learn and undertake responsibility for tasks and processes

Salary and Benefits

Salary between £16k and £20k dependent upon qualifications and experience

The company will pay for AAT and ACCA study and qualifications, depending on the quality and attitude of the successful applicant.
