PRU English Teacher

Remedy are now seeking a passionate and resilient English Teacher to join a dedicated team in Grays to help inspire and empower our students to reach their full potential.

As an English Teacher in our Alternative Provision, you will:

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons to students aged [insert age range], working predominantly at KS3 and KS4 levels.
  • Foster a safe, supportive, and positive classroom environment that supports the emotional and behavioural needs of learners.
  • Use creative and flexible approaches to re-engage students with a love of reading, writing, and effective communication.
  • Work closely with a multi-disciplinary team, including support staff, pastoral leads, and external professionals, to provide holistic education and care.
  • Track student progress, plan interventions, and contribute to individual education plans (IEPs).

Requirements:

  • A qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS preferred, though unqualified candidates with relevant experience will be considered).
  • Experienced or interested in working with students who have SEMH needs, EHCPs, or have been excluded from mainstream education.
  • A patient, adaptable, and trauma-informed practitioner with strong classroom management skills.
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.
  • Able to build strong, trusting relationships with young people, often in challenging circumstances.
