Setting: Alternative Provision Secondary SchoolÂ
Salary: ÂŁ90-ÂŁ110 per day
Start Date: Immediate or as soon as possible

We’re on the hunt for a passionate, resilient, and experienced Teaching Assistant who thrives in a non-mainstream educational environment. You're someone who understands the complex, varied needs of pupils with EHCPs and is committed to making a real difference in their educational journey.
This isn’t your typical classroom role. You’re someone who:
- Has previous experience working closely with pupils who have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
- Is calm, patient, and skilled at de-escalation – MAPA or Team Teach trained is highly desirable
- Understands the challenges faced by children and young people in alternative provision, and works with empathy and structure
- Can work 1:1 or with small groups to support both academic and emotional progress
- Has a toolbox of strategies to build trust and resilience in learners
- Isn’t afraid to think creatively and adapt on the fly
About the School:
You’ll be joining a specialist provision in Tewkesbury that supports pupils who may not thrive in mainstream settings due to SEMH, ASC, or complex behavioral needs. The school has a strong team ethos, robust support systems, and a shared belief in restorative practice and trauma-informed care.

Requirements

Experience supporting children in education settings

MAPA or Team Teach training (or willingness to complete)

Strong behavior management skills

An understanding of safeguarding and child protection
