- Lead the development and implementation of the group’s financial strategy.
- Advise the CEO and Board on financial planning, investment, compliance and risk.
- Oversee financial forecasting, budgeting, and reporting across all colleges in the group.
- Lead on risk management, identifying financial risks and opportunities, and ensuring robust mitigation strategies.
- Provide strategic oversight of catering operations ensuring they are financially sustainable, compliant, and aligned with student and staff needs.
- Engage with external stakeholders including funding bodies, auditors, and regulators.
- Provide leadership to the finance team, ensuring high standards of financial performance.
- Support strategic initiatives such as capital projects, mergers, expansion with financial insight.
- Ensure that budgets are effectively managed on a monthly/annual basis
- The right person will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with the ability to lead by example and demonstrate a track record in setting business objectives and converting long term objectives into actions.
- You will have a background in the Education or Public Sector, where you will have developed an appreciation for funding methodologies
- You will have proven experience of financial and business planning for a complex organisation, successfully supporting strategic, business development and commercial activities
- Ability to manage large budgets and delivery of financial targets
- Solid experience of both strategic and operational risk assessment and management
- Ability to interact effectively with all stakeholders, internally and externally at various levels
- Strong leadership, interpersonal and people management skills
