Job Description:

  • Write and edit engaging content across formats, legal articles, press releases, website copy, and announcements, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with the firm’s brand and tone.
  • Translate complex legal topics into accessible language for LinkedIn, media, and client-facing channels.
  • Work with internal teams to plan, review, and develop high-quality content, ensuring consistency with firm messaging and SEO best practices, including AI discoverability.
  • Plan, execute, and evaluate integrated marketing and communications campaigns.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external partners to align campaigns with business objectives.
  • Manage a content calendar to ensure regular, strategic publishing.
  • Oversee the firm’s LinkedIn content and engagement, ensuring posts are consistent with brand strategy.
  • Create, schedule, and monitor social media content; support fee earners with professional posts and best practices.
  • Track analytics to evaluate performance and drive improvements.
  • Draft and distribute press releases and monitor media coverage.
  • Build and maintain relationships with journalists and editors.
  • Identify and leverage media opportunities to raise the firm’s profile.
  • Liaise with department heads and fee earners to gather updates, approvals, and legal insights for content.
  • Foster strong internal relationships to ensure a steady flow of relevant and timely material.
  • Monitor and report on content performance, including LinkedIn engagement and press mentions.
  • Use data insights to refine content strategies and demonstrate impact.
  • Assist the Marketing Director and Managing Partner in delivering brand messaging and visual identity.
  • Serve as a key contact for both internal teams and external partners.
  • Provide administrative and general marketing support as needed to ensure smooth operations during peak periods or staff absences.

Person Specification:

  • Must have a degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, Law, or similar.
  • Proven background in content, marketing, or communications, ideally within legal or professional services.
  • Experience with PR, media liaison, and press release drafting.
  • Additional training in digital marketing or SEO is a plus.
  • Skilled at creating clear, engaging content from complex legal topics.
  • Strong grasp of brand voice, tone, and content optimisation for both traditional and AI-driven search.
  • Excellent copywriting and editorial skills with attention to tone, grammar, and accuracy.
  • Confident across multiple formats and platforms.
  • Knowledge of SEO, content analytics, and digital trends.
  • Proficient with tools like Google Analytics, LinkedIn, Hootsuite, and generative AI platforms.
  • Comfortable managing media relationships, pitching stories, and securing coverage.
  • Works well with PR agencies and journalists.
  • Organised and proactive, able to manage deadlines, stakeholder input, and approvals.
  • Strong collaborator and communicator.
  • Detail-focused, professional, adaptable, and committed to quality.
