We have an exciting opportunity for a confident HR Generalist to join a successful, growing business in Guildford. This is a hands-on, generalist role working as part of a team of 3 (HR Director, HR Advisor, HR Administrator) with huge scope for development as the organisation is going through a period of rapid growth. As the business is growing there are lots of opportunities to get involved in projects and to be instrumental in making improvements and implementing new policies, processes and initiatives. We are looking for someone ambitious who will relish this challenge!

Please note this is a fully office based role working Mon-Fri from the office in Guildford. There is free onsite parking.

The focus of the role is to manage day to day HR Operations and provide HR support across the entire employee lifecycle including employee relations, learning & development, recruitment, employee engagement and payroll. Key responsibilities include:

  • First point of contact for employee questions regarding policies and procedures
  • Provide advice and guidance to managers and employees, managing any ER issues as they arise
  • Support performance management and reward activities
  • Assist in the development of new learning and development initiatives, including apprenticeships, student placements and leadership training
  • Monthly payroll preparation including collating data and checking payments for review by HR Director
  • Benefits administration including processing changes, joiners, leavers and answering queries
  • Assist with HR communications such as input into quarterly newsletter and employee calls
  • Conduct probation and exit interviews, prepare a summary of feedback themes, making recommendations for improvements
  • Support with employee wellness and engagement initiatives
  • Own the onboarding process to provide a smooth landing for joiners including presenting HR onboarding session
  • Help optimise the use of HR systems (PeopleHR), proactively assessing data and providing suggestions on how to make business improvements by identifying trends

The successful candidate will:

  • Have previous Generalist HR experience
  • Be CIPD qualified (ideally level 5)
  • Be confident in managing processes across the entire employee lifecycle
  • Be experienced in managing ER issues
  • Be focused on continuous improvement and have excellent data analysis and IT skills to be able to make suggestions based on HR data and employee feedback
