Reed HR are working with a client in Guildford, Surrey to support their search for their next HR Coordinator.

  • Full time permanent role
  • Office based with occasional work from home and an option to work in other offices 1 day a week if suited 
  • 9am - 5.30pm with 1 hr for lunch
  • Part of a HR team, reporting to HR Director

My client is looking for a HR Officer with a couple of years' experience either as HR Administrator looking for a next step, a current HR Officer/Coordinator who wants a new challenge or an experienced HR Officer/HR Advisor. 

My client is happy to fund towards a CIPD qualification!

Ideally, you will have professional services industry experience - this is not essential.

Our client is looking for someone who is keen to embrace change, digitalization, new systems, employee engagement and be able to support this journey. Ideally you would have used an ATS system. 

Responsibilities include 

  • Work with the Director of People ensuring the business obligations under legislation and case law are met
  • Under the guidance of the Director of people, advise Managers with a view to developing a consistent approach to implementing HR policy, procedures, documentation and administration 
  • Visit other offices to advise on and assist in appropriate HR related matters 
  • Assist Managers with the recruitment of permanent staff 
  • Developing relationships with Recruitment Agencies
  • Placing adverts on relevant job sites
  • Briefing Recruitment Agencies
  • Amending and adapting job descriptions and specifications
  • Placing recruitment ads including on website and intranet and any other relevant media, and advising internal staff of the vacancy
  • Screening initial applications
  • Encouraging the use of recruitment questionnaires and documentation
  • Negotiating recruitment fees
  • Arranging/conducting interviews, issuing and ensuring return of interview questionnaires, arranging/conducting testing and advising on good interview practice
  • Negotiating offers of employment
  • Issuing offer letters and new starter documentation and ensuring documentation placed on payroll file.
  • Sending rejection letters to all unsuccessful candidates and providing feedback to recruitment agencies
  • Taking up references and ensuring eligibility to employ paperwork is checked and copied.
  • Gathering and collating diversity information
  • Responding in writing to any unsolicited applications for employment/work experience for all offices
  • Placing vacancies to and removing vacancies from the intranet and website
  • Liaising with IT to organise IT induction training
  • Advising Finance/IT/Marketing of all starters (and leavers and movers and promotions)
  • Doing DBS and SRA checks for all New Starters and appointing a Buddy
  • Delivering HR induction sessions to new starters
  • Loading new starters photo and bio to the intranet and updating the live news stream 
  • Ensuring P45s, HMRC New Starter Forms and all relevant paperwork is placed in the Payroll File
