Salary: £30,000 - £35,000

Hours: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm (Fixed hybrid - Monday & Friday - WFH)

The Role:An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior IT Technician to join an in-house team based in Guildford, supporting approximately 50 users. This hands-on role involves a broad range of responsibilities including device deployment, Microsoft 365 administration, troubleshooting daily technical issues, and managing relationships with external suppliers. The successful candidate will work closely with the IT Manager and have access to third-party support for escalated matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the first point of contact for IT support, providing assistance both in person and remotely across the business.
- Set up, configure, and deploy laptops and other devices for new and existing users.
- Manage and secure the Microsoft 365 environment, including user accounts, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and email security.
- Deliver remote desktop support and troubleshoot issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
- Monitor and maintain antivirus systems and endpoint protection to ensure security compliance.
- Administer user access and permissions within Azure Active Directory (Azure AD).
- Oversee and maintain the company’s SharePoint environment, including site structure and user permissions.
- Communicate with external vendors for software and hardware licensing, procurement, and escalated technical support.
- Contribute to ongoing IT improvement initiatives and assist with system upgrades and project rollouts.
The Successful Candidate Will:
- Have a minimum of 1 year’s experience in an IT support role or at least 2 years’ experience in an office-based role, supported by a recognised IT qualification.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally via phone, email, and in person.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook, and show a willingness to expand their knowledge across other applications and IT systems.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment, remaining flexible and effective when priorities shift.
- Ideally bring experience from a legal or insurance setting (desirable but not essential).
