Job - Engineering Operations Supervisor

Salary - £40,000-£45,000
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Engineering Operations Supervisor to oversee the daily activities of our engineering and technical operations team. The ideal candidate will lead efforts to streamline processes, ensure timely project execution, and uphold the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. This role serves as a bridge between engineering, production, and maintenance functions, ensuring seamless operations and continuous improvement.
The Engineering Operations Supervisor will ideally have the following attributes:
• HNC/D qualified in Manufacturing/Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or equivalent time-served experience.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in an engineering or technical operations role, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
• Strong understanding of engineering processes, equipment maintenance, and operational best practices.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
• Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage teams and coordinate across departments.
• Lean Six Sigma experience would be beneficial.
The Engineering Operations Supervisor role will involve:
• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the engineering operations team.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, maintenance, production, and quality assurance.
• Monitor performance metrics and operational KPIs to ensure alignment with departmental goals.
• Assist in planning and execution of engineering projects, upgrades, and maintenance initiatives.
• Ensure adherence to safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
• Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance productivity and reliability.
• Manage equipment, tools, and inventory related to engineering operations.
• Provide training, mentoring, and support to technical staff.
• Prepare reports and documentation for upper management on project status, team performance, and operational issues.
• Support budgeting and resource planning efforts within the engineering function.
