We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing project costs and ensuring that financial aspects of construction projects are meticulously controlled. This position requires a detail-oriented professional who can effectively communicate with various stakeholders while delivering accurate and timely cost estimates.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labour, and overheads.
- Monitor project expenses and conduct regular cost analysis to ensure adherence to budgets.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to assess project requirements and specifications.
- Conduct site visits to gather data for cost assessments and ensure compliance with project timelines.
- Prepare tender documents and assist in the evaluation of bids from contractors.
- Provide advice on contractual claims and disputes, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions related to projects.
- Assist in the preparation of reports for management on financial performance and forecasts.
Skills
- Strong understanding of cost control principles and practices within the construction industry.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail to identify discrepancies in costs.
- Proficient in using quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving capabilities.
