Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing project costs and ensuring that financial aspects of construction projects are meticulously controlled. This position requires a detail-oriented professional who can effectively communicate with various stakeholders while delivering accurate and timely cost estimates.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labour, and overheads.
  • Monitor project expenses and conduct regular cost analysis to ensure adherence to budgets.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to assess project requirements and specifications.
  • Conduct site visits to gather data for cost assessments and ensure compliance with project timelines.
  • Prepare tender documents and assist in the evaluation of bids from contractors.
  • Provide advice on contractual claims and disputes, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions related to projects.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports for management on financial performance and forecasts.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of cost control principles and practices within the construction industry.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail to identify discrepancies in costs.
  • Proficient in using quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving capabilities.
