Day-to-day Responsibilities:
  • Deliver engaging and effective teaching sessions in a SEND Resourced Provision, supporting children with Communication and Interaction Needs.
  • Teach a diverse curriculum including Maths, English, PSHE, and Science, adapting to additional subjects as required.
  • Utilise empathetic teaching approaches to support young people with Mental Health & Complex Needs.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all Safeguarding, Prevent, Foundations for Safer Care, and mandatory training requirements.
  • Develop and implement creative teaching strategies that integrate student performance with well-being, focusing on inclusive practices that boost attainment.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships beyond the classroom, including with families, other agencies, and community groups.
  • Consistently promote Spiritual, Moral, Social, and Cultural development within every lesson.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status.
  • Substantial recent experience (within the last 3 years) in a SEN setting.
  • Demonstrated success in teaching vulnerable children.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the 2014 SEND Code of Practice, EHCP, and their implementation.
  • Strong safeguarding skills with the ability to develop appropriate relationships and maintain discipline.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively use initiative.
