LINE TECHNICIAN

We are excited to partner with a Leading FMCG manufacturer located in Essex. We re working to recruit a Manufacturing Machine Operator for their night shift team. We are seeking a Line Technician, or Machine Operator with experience operating production and packing machinery within a similar food, FMCG, or manufacturing environment (such as food processing or packaging). The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, have excellent communication skills, and maintain a strong attention to detail.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and experience working within strict health and safety protocols.
  • Experience of wastage and critical control points steps in the food production process.
  • Familiarity with production KPIs, including Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), output, and waste metrics.
  • Confident and self motivated you will be covering the Shift Lead whenever on annual leave.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre-start machine setups and adjust settings throughout your shift to maintain quality standards.
  • Identify and report any faults on the production line to the Production and Engineering teams to ensure timely resolution.
  • Strictly follow health and safety guidelines, and report any near misses or incidents promptly.
  • Champion the highest standards of quality, food safety, hygiene, and housekeeping within the packing area by adhering to GMP, ensuring compliance with both company and customer standards.
  • Effective Communication
  • Engage with the line team daily to discuss line performance against KPIs and ensure that performance metrics are transparent and communicated effectively.
  • Work collaboratively with the line team to efficiently execute all line tasks while meeting quality expectations.
  • Strive to consistently meet and exceed production targets for your shift while finding ways to enhance productivity.
  • Reduce downtime during changeovers through improved preparation and readiness.
  • Respond swiftly and effectively to changes in the production schedule to maintain inventory levels.
