The Domestic Supervisor is a key first line Manager within Domestic Services. This involves maintaining an acceptable standard of cleanliness by constant supervision and the efficient use of staff, equipment and materials.
This role is based in the Domestic Services Team. The post holder will be required to have a good organisational and communication skills and a good level of IT skills as the role involves working on different softwares and programmes.
Key Responsibilities:
- To check each member of staff on duty on commencement of each shift, keep an attendance register and allocate staff to their place of work
- To ensure adequate cover to meet the staffing needs of wards and departments, bearing in mind the allocation of hours and the priority of cleaning
- To assist in the induction of new staff, with particular reference to the procedures relating to holidays, sickness, absence, lateness, uniforms, discipline and welfare
- To attend appropriate supervisory training courses
- To organise and record periodic duties to include curtain changing, floor maintenance and internal window cleaning
- To check and issue stores and to check that equipment is available, in working order and put away clean and tidy.
- To report immediately any defective or unsafe equipment
- To report to Line Manager, Domestic Services, any problems, complaints or difficulties with staff that he/she cannot handle
- To ensure that staff maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and wear suitable protective clothing.

Qualifications
- Proven experience in commercial cleaning and janitorial services
- Strong organizational skills to manage cleaning schedules and staff

- Ability to train and supervise cleaning staff to maintain high standards
- Attention to detail to ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are met
