Summary of the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and committed Teacher of Product Design for a full-time maternity cover role beginning in September 2025. Essential Requirements:
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Strong knowledge of current curriculum specifications (e.g., AQA GCSE & A-Level Design and Technology).
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Product Design lessons across KS3-KS5.
- Teach and assess GCSE and A-Level Design and Technology (Product Design).
- Use a range of teaching strategies to maximise student engagement.
- Maintain a safe and effective workshop environment.
- Support students through the design process, including research, planning, prototyping, and evaluation.
- Mark and assess student work, providing regular feedback and tracking progress.
- Develop and update schemes of learning in line with departmental goals.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the department and wider school.
- Monitor and manage student health and safety in all practical sessions.
- Prepare students for internal and external assessments.
