Science Teacher - Full Time - Harrow - Temp to Perm - October Start

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher to join a welcoming special needs school in Harrow. This is a full-time, long-term position teaching in a small SLD classroom with just 6 students across Key Stages 3 and 4.

You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging and accessible Science lessons, tailored to the needs of learners with severe learning difficulties (SLD). With excellent teaching assistant support and small class sizes, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver differentiated Science lessons adapted for students with SLD.
• Create a positive and supportive classroom environment where all students can thrive.
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and the wider staff team to provide high-quality education and care.
• Monitor and assess student progress, setting personalised and achievable learning goals.
• Use creative strategies and resources to engage students with varying needs and abilities.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching students with SLD (in a school or specialist setting).
• Strong subject knowledge in Science and ability to adapt the curriculum.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and behaviour management skills.
• A patient, flexible, and resilient teaching approach.
