We are offering an exciting opportunity for a People Services Advisor to join our team on a maternity cover basis. You will play a key role in delivering and supporting change across people-related processes and practices. As the first point of contact for line managers, you will provide expert advice on employee relations (ER), ensuring robust policies, processes, and toolkits are in place. This is a pivotal time for my Client with the implementation of a new HRIS system and a comprehensive review of policies and procedures underway.
Job Purpose:- Serve as the first point of contact for line managers on all ER matters, including absence management, occupational health referrals, disciplinary and grievance procedures.
- Provide high-quality, consistent, and legally compliant HR advice, aligning with organisational policies, culture, values, and behaviours.
- Support people-related projects such as the implementation of new HRIS systems, policy reviews, and process or change management initiatives.
- Coordinate administrative activities across the full employee lifecycle.
- Maintain and analyse key people data, providing insights and suggesting improvements.
- Drive continuous improvement within People Services, ensuring all policies and toolkits are accessible and clear.
- Work in partnership with internal stakeholders to implement initiatives that support employee engagement and wellbeing.
- Collaborate with the Resourcing & Talent Management Lead and the Learning & Talent Development Manager to support management and leadership training programmes.
- Mentor the People Services Apprentice and People Services Assistant, contributing to their development.
- Proven experience in an HR Advisor role, with a strong understanding of employee relations and UK employment law.
- Confidence in managing ER cases and advising line managers with clarity and professionalism.
- Experience in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proactive and flexible approach.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Proficiency in using HR systems.
- Willingness to travel to other sites as required.
- CIPD Level 5 qualification (or currently working towards it).
- Experience in policy review and development.
- Experience in project or process change management.
- Coaching or mentoring experience.
