The Two Sawyers in Pett, is a family run freehouse located on the outskirts of Hastings serving excellent food.
The Two Sawyers has been awarded Open table Diners' choice award for 2025 for one of the best places to eat in East Sussex.
We are looking for a skilled Sous Chef to join our dynamic team at our popular pub.
If you have a flair for creating delicious dishes and enjoy working in a fast-pasted environment, this could be the perfect role for you!
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook dishes to a high standard, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control to meet customer expectations.
- Support the Head Chef and manage on shift the smooth running of the kitchen.
- Create and execute dishes to a high standard including daily specials in keeping with the season.
- Collaborate with the team to maintain cleanliness, organisation, and hygiene in the kitchen, following all health and safety regulations.
- Manage stock levels, assist with inventory control, and minimise food wastage through proper storage and rotation practices.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a busy pub or restaurant environment.
- Proficient in preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, including starters, main courses, and desserts.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene regulations.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage time efficiently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Good communication skills and to be able to work well under pressure.
- A professional attitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering fantastic experiences to our customers.
Full time & part time positions available. Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
Rate of pay depending on experience.
Must provide two references.
Must have a driving license or live close by.
