Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages (Maternity Cover)

Academics is delighted to be working with a high-achieving secondary school in Hertfordshire to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages for a maternity cover position starting in January 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for an inspiring teacher who can deliver engaging and challenging lessons in French and/or German across Key Stages 3 and 4, encouraging students to develop confidence and a genuine love for languages.

The Role

• Deliver high-quality, well-structured lessons in French and/or German.
• Contribute to the continued success of a supportive and forward-thinking MFL department.
• Plan, prepare, and assess effectively to ensure all students make excellent progress.
• Maintain high expectations for student achievement and behaviour.
• Play an active role in the wider life of the school community.

The Ideal Candidate

• A qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent) with experience teaching French and/or German.
• Passionate about language learning and committed to raising student attainment.
• Enthusiastic, adaptable, and able to inspire pupils of all abilities.
• Strong classroom management skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
