Overview:

Unify is excited to be recruiting a People & Culture Coordinator on behalf of a well-established plant hire company based in Hemel Hempstead.

As a key member of the People & Culture team, you will support all aspects of the employee lifecycle, with a particular focus on employee relations. Your responsibilities will include managing onboarding and offboarding processes, maintaining employee records, handling benefits queries, and overseeing HR systems. You will also provide advice and support on employee relations matters such as performance, absence, and conduct issues.

What do I need?

  • CIPD Level 3 or HR-related degree (required)
  • Experience as an HR Advisor, with ER exposure
  • Experience with case management
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and discretion

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the first point of contact for general HR queries and support requests.
  • Coordinate and deliver a smooth, engaging onboarding experience, including inductions and training for new joiners.
  • Draft and issue employment contracts and offer letters accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain up-to-date employee records in the HR system, including processing new starters, leavers, and contractual changes.
  • Collaborate with Payroll to provide timely and accurate updates on starters, leavers, bonuses, benefits, and contract amendments.
  • Monitor and manage probation periods, ensuring all required contract changes are actioned appropriately.
  • Conduct Right to Work checks and ensure full compliance with legal and internal requirements.
  • Keep internal teams informed of staffing changes through clear and consistent communication.
  • Support employee recognition programmes, including service anniversaries and reward initiatives.
  • Manage the secure digital archiving of HR documents in compliance with ISO 27001 standards.
  • Organise and maintain the People & Culture document management system for ease of access and accuracy.
  • Contribute to internal communications by regularly updating the company intranet with information on new joiners, leavers, and internal moves.
