We are looking for a passionate and experienced Head of Science to join a welcoming secondary school in Hereford from January.

This is a full-time, permanent role for the right candidate.

About the School:
This is a mixed 11–16 secondary with just over 600 pupils on roll.

The school has a caring, community-focused ethos, underpinned by strong values that promote respect, resilience, and ambition.

Staff are dedicated to raising aspirations and supporting every student to achieve their best.

The Role:
You’ll lead a committed Science department, driving forward teaching and learning across Key Stages 3 & 4.

With responsibility for curriculum development, staff mentoring and raising standards, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact.

What You’ll Need:

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)

  • Experience teaching Science at KS3–KS4

  • Previous departmental leadership or management experience (preferred)

  • Strong organisational and communication skills

  • A passion for inspiring students and raising attainment
