Sonic Summary

We are seeking a mechanical design engineer to join our dedicated team, focusing on innovative design solutions for the flat glass handling and processing industry.
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 8 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering Design and possess skills in Inventor, AutoCAD Mechanical, and MS Office 365.
Responsibilities include mechanical design of new products, modification of existing designs, and production of manufacturing and assembly drawings.
Experience with glass handling equipment and conveyor systems is preferred, along with knowledge of special purpose machine design.
The salary for this position ranges from £40,000 to £50,000, depending on skills and experience.

Essential Skills:

Mechanical Engineering Design.

Working knowledge of Inventor, AutoCAD Mechanical and MS Office 365.

Detailing of machined components, welded fabrications, sheet metal and laser cut parts.

Experience:

Minimum of 8 years working within the field of Mechanical Engineering Design.

Knowledge or experience of design of special purpose machines.

Glass handling equipment and conveyor systems experience would be ideal.

Responsibilities (Included but not limited to):

Mechanical design of new products from concept sketches or design brief using Inventor 2022 and AutoCAD 2022 (Autodesk Factory Design Suite 2022)Modification of existing products.Production of mechanical manufacturing and assembly drawings to the agreed ISO and quality standards.Research and specify suitable proprietary parts.Production of bill of materials (BOM). Experience with SAP is desirable but essential.Maintain standard product library.Follow HSE machinery safety standards.Machinery Risk Assessment for new and existing equipment.Support production team during assembly and testing phases.Change control – Following company process for improvements.Machinery layouts for customer & quotation purposes.
