Your Role as a Trainee SEN Teacher:

  • Support pupils and students with severe learning difficulties, tailoring your approach to their individual needs.
  • Work under the mentorship of experienced senior leaders, gaining invaluable insights and practical training.
  • Build strong relationships with parents, families, and the wider community to promote inclusive development.
  • Occasionally lead whole classes during short-term teacher absences.

Position Details:

Role: Trainee SEN Teacher

Hours: 8:45am - 3:45pm daily with a 30-minute lunch break

After-School Club: One day per week, 3:30pm - 5:15pm

Term Time Only: Plus 10 additional days for Easter/Summer clubs

Pay & Progression:

  • Starting on H4: £25,183 FTE (approx. £19,350 pro rata)
  • Clear progression to H5, and then to the Unqualified Teacher Scale as you move through your training
