We are delighted to be working with this expanding local business who are looking to recruit a Shipping & Logistics Coordinator to the team. Reporting to the Operations Manager this position involves close collaboration with the Operations Team, Traders and other support functions.

THE ROLE:
Plan the loading and shipment of traded product from source to destination in line with terms of the sale. Source areas of responsibility allocated to this role will be shared amongst the Team and could change throughout the year due to volume and seasonality of Trade.
Dealing directly with internal teams and external parties to ensure efficient and timely shipments in line with contractual terms of the orders placed by Trading Team.
Working as part of the Container Risk working Group (alongside Container Operations Manager and FP&A) to manage and minimise the Risks involved with the Container Trade.
Handle Container claims with shipping lines and Cargo insurers as and when required.
Ensure maximum margin is achieved on every shipment and maximum supplier / customer satisfaction is provided.
Produce accurate / timely forecasting information for all interested Stakeholders.
Ensure timely container loadings in line with agreed terms of sale.
Project work alongside Container Operations Manager when required.
Monitor and handle any issues that arise in the course of shipment up until collection and return of the container by Customer.
Maintain regular communications with all Trading partners and ensure accurate regular planning information is provided.
Co-ordination with other support functions and Traders on Logistics matters.
Seek opportunities to reduce logistics costs and enhance performance and service levels.
Work alongside Inspection agencies when required to meet requirements of destination markets.
Collaborate with the Container Operations team to ensure department KPI's are met.
Integrating the SAP Business system into container operations functionality, both internally and externally, while developing improved reporting and controls in collaboration with the Container Operations Manager.
This role is part of the wider Container Logistics team and therefore there may be times when you are required to perform roles outside of the formal job description in order to keep the functionality running smoothly and efficiently.

Accuracy and attention to detail.
Numeracy and computer literacy, experience of SAP ideally.
Good knowledge of Shipping documentation (Bills of Lading, Certs of Origin/Health, VGM etc)
