About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Systems Engineer to play a key role in the development and integration of cutting-edge electric traction and drive systems. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of innovative ETA (Electric Traction Architecture) products and solutions into a variety of customer vehicles and equipment platforms.

This is a technically diverse and strategic role that will see you contribute across the full product lifecycle—from requirements definition to system delivery—while engaging directly with customers, prospects, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of ETA product families for integration into customer systems, ensuring compliance and safety standards are met.

  • Take ownership of technical specifications and requirements across vehicle and system development projects.

  • Deliver engineering solutions on time, to quality, and within budget.

  • Support project and programme management activities for both internal and customer-facing initiatives.

  • Define system-level requirements, targets, and goals for new and evolving products.

  • Decompose system requirements across motor, controller, and software components.

  • Act as a mentor and coach to junior systems engineers, supporting professional development.

  • Ensure full compliance with UK and international regulations and standards.

  • Build strong working relationships with key customers, suppliers, and stakeholders.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across engineering processes and product development.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Strong understanding of electric drive systems, harness development, CAN protocols, and Battery Management Systems (BMS).

  • Proven experience in system-level design, requirement management, and system modelling.

  • Demonstrated ability to define, decompose, and manage complex engineering requirements.

  • Experience working within multi-disciplinary teams on vehicle or powertrain integration projects.

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

  • Leadership qualities with experience mentoring engineering teams.

Desirable:

  • Experience working on automotive, defence, or heavy-duty vehicle projects.

  • Familiarity with compliance and functional safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262).

What We Offer:

  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology in a growing sector.

  • Collaborative and innovative working environment.

  • Career development and mentoring opportunities.

  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
