Rochdale Council are looking for a Part-Time Administrator for a three-month contract. This role involves a variety of administrative and financial tasks, supporting the Environmental Management Service under the guidance of the Business Support Manager. This position does not include reception duties but requires a candidate who can handle a diverse range of administrative responsibilities efficiently.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide a wide range of business and technical support functions.
  • Manage data input, retrieval, and quality across environmental management records, both electronic and paper.
  • Handle the processing and distribution of incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Assist in the procurement of goods and services, including ordering stationery.
  • Prepare and collate information, including preparing incoming payments for central banking and taking payments.
  • Assist with the collection of data for Service Key Performance Indicators.
  • Undertake word processing, log customer/member queries, and manage vehicle hire and MOT for taxi driver administration.
  • Serve as the main customer contact at Green Lane Reception, both in person and by telephone.
  • Use ICT systems effectively for duties including typing letters and creating spreadsheets.
  • Monitor levels of office consumables, process orders and invoices, and ensure timely payment.
  • Assist in the reconciliation of cash income and prepare for banking.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in administrative roles, preferably within a council or similar public sector environment.
  • Ability to take notes and minutes effectively.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in handling financial and technical support tasks is highly desirable.
