Hours: 37 per week - 10am till 6pm Monday to Friday
Overview:
Service Care Solutions are seeking a reliable and proactive Yard Operative to join a client they are working with based out of Heywood. The successful candidate will ensure the depot yard is maintained to a high standard, supporting operational efficiency and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a clean and safe yard through litter picking, weed removal, and leaf clearance.
- Carry out strimming and hedging to keep access routes clear.
- Apply grit during cold periods to prevent slips and falls.
- Conduct daily site inspections and report health and safety concerns.
- Handle deliveries safely, including unloading and storing items using a forklift truck.
- Monitor skips, wheelie bin stock, pallets, and damaged bins for timely action.
- Wash sweepers daily and check brush wear for replacement.
- Ensure signage is visible and in good condition.
- Forklift Truck licence and experience.
- LGV licence (desirable but not essential).
- Previous experience in yard or depot operations.
- Strong awareness of health and safety practices.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physically fit for manual tasks.
