Academics is working on behalf of a forward-thinking alternative education provider to recruit a Community Teacher based in High Wycombe. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator who is committed to transforming the lives of young people who have disengaged from traditional education.

As a Community Teacher in High Wycombe, you will support a small caseload of students-up to five at a time-delivering a bespoke learning experience in community settings, at home, or in other local facilities. Your role is to provide both academic tuition and vital pastoral care, helping learners overcome complex barriers and guiding them back toward structured education.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Delivering personalised teaching and mentoring to students aged 11-16 in the High Wycombe area.
  • Creating and implementing tailored learning plans that address both academic and emotional needs.
  • Building strong relationships with families, local partners, and support services.
  • Promoting engagement, resilience, and aspiration in learners who require alternative approaches to education.
  • Acting as a key part of a wider inclusion team working collaboratively for positive outcomes.

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • QTS/QTLS or willingness to work toward a recognised teaching qualification.
  • A strong academic background, including GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or above.
  • Experience working with young people with challenging behaviours or additional needs.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, inclusion, and alternative education models.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
