My client is looking for a HR Generalist to provide comprehensive HR support services to their managers, ensuring legal compliance and best practice across all people-related matters. This role is crucial in supporting business needs by offering professional advice on employment law, HR policies, and systems, thereby driving employee engagement and operational efficiency.
Day-to-day of the role:- Ensure the organisation follows fair, transparent, and legally compliant HR practices at all times.
- Support the business in mitigating employment risks by ensuring adherence to current legislation and best practices, and planning for future changes.
- Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks to ensure legislative compliance and organisational alignment.
- Provide professional HR advice and guidance to managers on staff development and training needs, performance management, salary and pay reviews, and employee relations including disciplinaries, grievances, and disputes.
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, ensuring equality, fairness, and compliance with employment law.
- Oversee absence management processes, including return-to-work interviews, occupational health referrals, and proactive monitoring of sickness absence.
- Promote and maintain HR practices that align with the organisation’s culture and values.
- Maintain GDPR-compliant employee records and databases, ensuring appropriate and accurate file management.
- Coordinate and administer Health and Safety activities in collaboration with the senior management team and board.
- Provide accurate HR-related data to Finance for the payroll process for hourly-paid staff.
- Undertake additional HR tasks and projects as requested, within the limits of training and capability.
- Proven experience in HR support or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, HR policies, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear and effective advice on a range of HR issues.
- Experience managing recruitment campaigns and advising on selection decisions.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Proficient in HR systems and databases.
- No direct budgetary responsibility but must understand the financial impact of HR decisions.
