Our client is now looking to recruit for a Electro-Mechanical Technician to join their team.
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000
Location: Horley - Must be a driver as the role will require travelling to another site
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am - 4.30pm
The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and skilled technician to join the team and take full ownership of the build process for the Vector Extensometer product line. This position is ideal for someone with strong technical expertise and a solid understanding of modern light manufacturing practices. You will be responsible for the assembly, calibration, and supply of an innovative and expanding product range, playing a key role in its early-stage development and future growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilise the company’s ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics F&O) for production planning, inventory tracking, and workflow management.
- Conduct thorough inspection of incoming parts to ensure quality standards are met; liaise with suppliers to return defective items and arrange replacements.
- Accurately kit components for sub-assemblies and final builds based on ERP production orders.
- Assemble and build the Vector product range following detailed company procedures, including handling any necessary repair tasks.
- Calibrate finished products using approved calibration equipment; record all serial numbers and calibration data in accordance with company documentation protocols.
- Prepare and pack completed units for dispatch, ensuring they meet shipping deadlines and customer requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment, including the production and storage areas.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams across the Tinius Olsen group to uphold product quality and communicate any design or process changes.
- Accurately record production data and ensure all documentation and files are kept up to date.
- Adhere to all company health and safety policies and procedures.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as required to support production and operational efficiency.
About you:
- 5 years minimum relevant experience.
- Must have a full driving license.
- Competent with precision measuring equipment i.e. micrometres and verniers
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, general assembly drawings, department build instructions/procedures and geometric tolerances.
- Able to operate a variety of small hand tools.
- Apprentice-trained and time-served, with an NVQ, HNC, HND, or Degree in Mechanical or Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Holds a recognised qualification or has completed formal employee training in electronic product assembly or a similarly regulated manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on hands-on, practical skills.
- Strong communication and numerical skills.
- Reliable, organised, and able to work independently.
- Proficient in both written and spoken English.
- Confident using Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
