An established and growing firm of Chartered Accountants in Huddersfield is looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to join their team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong payroll experience who enjoys working with clients and leading a small team.

About the Role

You will manage payroll and CIS services for a range of clients. This includes running payrolls, making sure all deductions are correct, answering client queries, and keeping up with HMRC deadlines.

Main Responsibilities

Process weekly, monthly, and annual payrolls
Manage CIS payments and returns
Handle PAYE, National Insurance, pensions, and other deductions
Submit forms such as P45s, P60s, and CIS300s
Support clients with payroll queries and give clear advice
Keep accurate records and follow data protection rules
Help lead and support the payroll team

What We’re Looking For

Experience in payroll, ideally in an accountancy firm
Good knowledge of UK payroll and CIS rules
Confident using payroll software (IRIS, Brightpay, Moneysoft) and Excel
Able to meet deadlines and manage your workload
A payroll qualification like CIPP is a bonus
Friendly, professional, and client-focused
