Conveyancing Assistant Job in Huddersfield Residential Property

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Conveyancing Assistant to join a busy, well-established residential property team at a respected law firm in Huddersfield.

This full-time, office-based position is perfect for someone with at least twelve months of practical conveyancing experience, particularly in residential sales and purchases.

This role is client-facing and ideal for a proactive, friendly and professional individual who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment. You will support solicitors and fee earners with a high-volume caseload, handling all aspects of the administrative process from file opening through to completion.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in conveyancing and further develop their legal skills within a supportive and collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Opening new client files and inputting information into the case management system
  • Preparing initial correspondence and legal documents, including sale contracts
  • Managing transactions in line with internal processes and procedures
  • Ordering property searches and drafting client reports
  • Assisting with the exchange of contracts, completions and post-completion work
  • Communicating with clients, estate agents and solicitors via phone and email
  • Handling incoming and outgoing post
  • Supporting general office administration including billing, filing and archiving

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum of twelve months experience in a conveyancing assistant or support role
  • Previous experience with residential property sales and purchases
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Proficient IT skills and accurate typing ability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to prioritise and manage a busy workload in a deadline-driven environment
  • Friendly, professional and committed to excellent client service
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Positive, proactive and willing to take initiative
