Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Transport Manager to lead their logistics operations. The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills and a deep understanding of supply chain management. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient transportation of goods while maintaining high levels of customer service. The Transport Manager will manage a team, coordinate logistics, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.

Description

  • Oversee all transport operations, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods.
  • Liaise with suppliers to manage stock efficiently.
  • Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimise supply chain processes.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to address inquiries or issues related to transport services.
  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure seamless integration of transport activities within overall business operations.
  • Utilise IT systems, including Outlook and Word, to manage schedules, documentation, and reporting.
  • Maintain accurate records of transport activities, including vehicle maintenance and compliance checks.
  • Train and supervise staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and high performance within the transport team.

Profile

  • Proven experience in logistics or transport management.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in IT applications such as Outlook and Word.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to resolve issues promptly.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making within a fast-paced environment.
  • CPC Transport Manager Qualification.
  • Experience with hazardous chemicals is a huge bonus but not essential
