Key Responsibilities
- Operate refuse collection vehicles in a safe and efficient manner across residential and commercial routes.
- Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance checks on vehicles to ensure operational readiness.
- Lift and empty bins into collection vehicles, ensuring proper handling and minimal spillage.
- Communicate clearly with team members and members of the public regarding routes, schedules, and any collection issues.
- Follow health and safety regulations to ensure the safety of yourself, your team, and the public.
- Keep vehicles clean and tidy after each shift to maintain hygiene and professionalism.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar role is a plus but not required.
- Basic mechanical knowledge is desirable to assist with minor vehicle maintenance.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting throughout the workday.
- Good physical fitness to handle outdoor work in all weather conditions.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
