We are currently working with a wide range of secondary schools and academies across Kirklees and Calderdale, looking to appoint skilled and committed SEND Teaching Assistants for immediate cover as well as full placements from the start of the new academic year.
About the Role
As a Secondary SEND Teaching Assistant, you'll be supporting pupils on a one-to-one or small group basis - often with additional needs such as ASD, ADHD, or SEMH challenges. You'll assist across various curriculum subjects, encourage positive behaviour, and help to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment. You will also collaborate with teachers and SENDCOs to ensure that the learning needs of each student are being met.

Requirements:
- Recent experience working with secondary-aged pupils, ideally with SEND or SEMH needs
- A Level 3 qualification or equivalent in childcare, education, or support
- Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, compassionate approach
- A full, detailed CV showing 10 years' work history (with explanations for any gaps)
- A valid enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
- Two professional references and, if applicable, overseas police checks
- The legal right to work in the UK
- Willingness to attend a face-to-face registration interview
