I currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Transport Planner to join a well-established, family-run general haulage business based in Huddersfield, operating curtainsiders and trailers nationwide.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in general haulage planning who enjoys working in a supportive environment with a strong focus on teamwork, communication, and operational excellence.

• Plan and manage daily and weekly transport operations across the UK

• Maximise fleet efficiency through effective outbound job and backload planning

• Liaise with drivers, customers, and sub-contractors to ensure smooth operations

• Use a well-established Transport Management System (TMS) to manage routes and documentation

• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry regulations

• Previous experience in UK general haulage planning, ideally with curtainsiders and trailers

• Strong geographical knowledge of the UK road network

• Excellent organisational and communication skills

• The ability to work calmly under pressure and solve problems effectively

• A positive, team-focused attitude

• Competitive salary of 32,000 - 35,000 (dependent on experience)
