We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established, multi-disciplinary consultancy with a long-standing reputation for delivering engineering, surveying, and design services across the UK and internationally. They are now looking to appoint a highly experienced Senior Surveyor to lead the delivery of surveying projects from concept to completion.
This role offers the opportunity to manage a wide range of land and engineering survey projects while mentoring a growing team and contributing to the ongoing success of a respected organisation.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead and manage land, topographic, engineering, and geodetic surveys
- Supervise survey teams across field and office operations
- Liaise with clients to understand requirements and ensure high-quality delivery
- Produce accurate technical outputs including drawings, models, reports, and specifications
- Ensure full compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and health & safety protocols
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively
- Provide mentorship and technical support to junior team members
- Utilise modern equipment and software for survey data collection and processing
Technical Requirements
- Strong experience using:
- Total Station / Robotics (e.g., Leica, Topcon)
- GPS/GNSS systems (Smart Rover)
- 3D Scanners (Trimble, Faro, or Leica)
- Drones (DJI Mavic E3 - preferred)
Proficient in:
- AutoCAD or Revit
- Trimble RealWorks
- Recap, Scene, and PIX4D (preferred)
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in land or engineering surveying
- Demonstrated experience managing survey teams or departments
- Degree-qualified in Geomatics, Surveying, Civil Engineering, or similar
- Chartered status (e.g., RICS, PLS) or working toward it
- Strong project management and leadership abilities
- Confident communicator with proven client-facing experience
- Experience working within an engineering consultancy environment is desirable
