We’re seeking a dedicated IRO (Independent Reviewing Officer) to join a committed team in North Yorkshire, delivering high-impact work through independent oversight of Child Protection Conferences, Children Looked After Reviews, and Foster Carer Annual Reviews.�? In This Role, You Will:
  • Chair Initial and Review Child Protection Conferences, Looked After Child (LAC) Reviews, and Foster Carer Annual Reviews
  • Ensure all reviews are held within statutory timeframes, in line with legislative requirements and best practice standards
  • Champion the voice of the child in every review, ensuring their views are heard and reflected
  • Provide independent challenge where necessary to improve the quality of planning and decision-making
  • Monitor and track progress against care and protection plans
  • Collaborate with social workers, managers, carers, families, and other professionals to deliver the best outcomes
?? The Ideal Candidate Will Have:?? A Social Work qualification & registration with Social Work England?? 4+ years’ post-qualified experience in children’s social care?? Deep understanding of Child Protection, Looked After Children, and Fostering legislation?? A confident, independent mindset and a strong commitment to upholding children's rights?? Strong communication, mediation, and negotiation skills?? Experience working within multi-agency, inter-professional settings?? A proactive, quality-focused, and outcome-driven approach??
