Engineering Role

Department: Engineering (supporting all departments)
Reports to: Engineering Manager
Shift-based role | Full-time | 20 per hour

About the Role

Our client are on the lookout for a proactive and skilled Engineer to join their dedicated team. In this hands-on role, you'll ensure the smooth and safe operation of their factory equipment and facilities. You'll be key in keeping our operations running efficiently by minimising downtime and maintaining high standards in health, safety, and food quality.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance on a wide range of process and packaging equipment
  • Troubleshooting breakdowns to reduce production downtime
  • Supporting production efficiency across all departments
  • Maintaining records of maintenance activities using our Pirana system
  • Participating in machine installations, upgrades, and improvement projects
  • Conducting building and facility maintenance
  • Monitoring equipment performance and reliability to spot potential issues early
  • Following a lean approach to spares management and continuous improvement
  • Ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and food safety regulations

What They're Looking For

  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical engineering skills
  • Hands-on experience with industrial machinery and factory maintenance
  • A solid understanding of health & safety protocols
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
  • Flexibility to work shifts and respond to business needs
  • Good communication skills to liaise effectively with the wider team
  • Experience using CMMS systems (e.g. Pirana) is a bonus
  • Willingness to mentor apprentices or support new starters
