Are you passionate about shaping the student experience and helping young people thrive in college?Dovetail and Slate, working with over 200 colleges across the UK, is seeking an experienced Student Development Manager to lead personal development initiatives and create a lasting impact in the college community.

Role Overview:In this role, you'll lead the planning and delivery of the personal development programme, including enrichment, student voice, tutorial content, and pastoral support. You'll manage key teams such as Personal Development Coaches, Learning Resource Centre staff, and other student support staff across both campuses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the student development calendar and tutorial resources

  • Manage enrichment events and student-led initiatives

  • Coordinate student voice activities and the annual student conference

  • Support the Students' Union Executive and Student Eco-Council

  • Oversee pastoral support and targeted student interventions

  • Ensure Learning Resource Centres are effectively managed

  • Line manage staff across student support services

Essential Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant field

  • Level 3 qualification or significant supervisory experience

  • Minimum Level 2 in English and Maths

  • Strong background in personal development or student support

  • Team leadership and training delivery experience

  • Knowledge of post-16 education and student development priorities

  • Enhanced DBS (mandatory)

  • Full driving licence and ability to travel between campuses

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings/weekends
