Laboratory Support Administrator
  • Contract Type: Full-time - Mon- Fri - 6-8 week initial temp role but may be extended or go permanent

We are seeking a Laboratory Support Administrator to provide essential support within our laboratory environment. This role is crucial for maintaining the smooth operation of our services, including analytical reporting, handling service requests, and managing administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will be involved in various aspects of customer service, database management, and quality control, ensuring high standards are met across all functions.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Service Requests:

    • Provide routes and bottles for internal and external customers.
    • Enter analytical data accurately and efficiently.
    • Handle and maintain queries through the Laboratory Enquiries mailbox and other communication channels.
  • Customer Service:

    • Produce analytical reports for external customers.
    • Report on commercial sample failures as required.
    • Manage statements and invoicing to ensure accurate financial processing.
    • Resolve general laboratory service queries promptly to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Database Management:

    • Update and maintain critical databases, including query and customer information databases, ensuring they are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Quality Records:

    • Maintain records in line with the Quality Management System (QMS).
    • Keep detailed records for recharge purposes to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Other Responsibilities:

    • Conduct safety checks as required to ensure a safe working environment.
    • Cover reception duties and provide support for other activities as needed.
    • Flexibility to take on additional tasks or cover for colleagues when necessary.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in an administrative role, preferably within a laboratory or similar technical environment.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in database management and MS Office applications.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to maintaining high quality standards and safety protocols.
