Mechanical Design Engineer - Electro-Mechanical Salary: £45,000-£50,000Location: South CambridgeshireAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well-established and innovative product development company. The company specialises in the design and development of electro-mechanical scientific instrumentation, taking products from initial concept through to full-scale production.This is a fantastic role for an engineer looking to make a real impact, with the chance to work on cutting-edge R&D projects and contribute to the design of complex electro-mechanical scientific instrumentation. You'll be part of a multi-disciplinary team, with exposure to a broad range of engineering challenges in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.Key Responsibilities:+ Develop products from concept through to production + Design complex electro-mechanical systems + 3D CAD design + Build and test prototypes + Work closely with a cross-functional R&D team across electronics, software, and systems+ Participate in design reviews, problem-solving sessions and continuous improvement initiatives+ Ensure designs are optimised for manufacture and assembly (DFM/DFA)Skills & Experience Required:+ Degree in relevant engineering discipline (or equivalent experience) + Previous experience in developing electro-mechanical systems is a must + Strong 3D CAD design skills+ Proven experience developing products from concept through to manufacture+ Good understanding of materials, tolerances, manufacturing techniques + Hands on workshop skills - using tools and prototyping
